No landscape in Argentina is empty of people

Argentina's roads pass through layers of Indigenous presence, colonisation, migration, labour, dictatorship, democracy and regional identity. These do not fit into one national narrative.

The journey uses exact voices rather than cultural shorthand. Real hosts are selected and paid for the knowledge they bring to a particular place.

A hand stencil, irrigation ditch, mission wall, wool port or music room becomes meaningful only when the person interpreting it knows whose history is usually left outside.
