Why this place matters
Palms gather on the last horizon
El Palmar protects one of Argentina's characteristic yatay palm landscapes along the Uruguay River. Palms rise over grassland while gallery forest gathers near water.
Placed after Iberá, the park changes rather than repeats the wetland. It also keeps the last stage to Buenos Aires from becoming a purely functional drive.
The road home should not dissolve into motorway. El Palmar gives it one final silhouette before Buenos Aires returns.
