Why this place matters

A floating world for the road home

Iberá is a mosaic of lagoons, marsh, floating vegetation, grassland and woodland in Corrientes. Capybara, caiman, marsh deer and dense birdlife often appear close to the water routes.

The wetland is also a contemporary restoration landscape. Reintroductions and conservation work make the visit about ecological recovery, not only abundance.

Iberá is too large for a generic wetland stop. I select the portal for season, road, wildlife and the local guide, then give it several nights.
