El Impenetrable protects one of the largest surviving blocks of Argentine dry Chaco between the Bermejo and Bermejito rivers.
On the park's long guided trail, spoor, feeding signs and bird calls reveal animals that dense thorn forest often keeps out of sight.

The official first section is 12 kilometers and rated high difficulty, so a shorter alternative may be more appropriate.

I would travel south for whales, lenga forests and glaciers calving into blue water. I would turn north for Mendoza's vineyards, the white deserts of the Puna and the roar of Iguazú. Both deserve a journey of their own.
