Namibia desert, coast and safari journeys guide

How many days do you need in Namibia?

Allow 8–12 days for Namibia's classic dunes, coast and Etosha journey. Choose Epic Namibia when you want the remote north, Victoria Falls, the Okavango and the deep south in one great overland circle.

Field note

What 7, 12 or 50 days can hold

Seven days can link Swakopmund, Twyfelfontein, Etosha and Waterberg. Expect several long drives; leave Sossusvlei for a journey with more time.

Nine days can add Sossusvlei before the coast and Etosha, but the pace is intense and the final return to Windhoek is long.

Eight to twelve days are better for the classic journey. You can cross Deadvlei at dawn, spend a full day with a desert guide near Swakopmund and wait at Etosha's waterholes without watching the clock.

Allow roughly 50–60 days for Epic Namibia. The journey reaches Kaokoland, the Kunene, Victoria Falls and the Okavango before returning through Fish River Canyon, Lüderitz and the Namib.

Bring me the days you have and the Namibia image you cannot stop thinking about. I will plan a private guided or self-drive journey around it.

Namibia timing FAQ

Short answers before you count the days

Q01Is 6–9 days enough for Namibia?

Yes, for Swakopmund, Damaraland and Etosha. Add Sossusvlei only when you have enough time to protect its dawn and avoid rushing the long crossings.

Q02What changes with 8–12 days?

Eight to twelve days can include Sossusvlei at dawn, a full Swakopmund day and unhurried wildlife watching in Etosha.

Q03When should I choose Epic Namibia?

Choose the Epic when you want Namibia's remote north, the great rivers and the deep south in one unbroken circle, without treating Sossusvlei as a hurried detour.

Let's plan your Namibia journey

Cross Deadvlei at dawn, follow desert wildlife tracks near Swakopmund and wait beside an Etosha waterhole as elephants emerge through the dust.

We will begin with your dates, your pace and the image that brought Namibia into your mind. From there, I will draw the journey that belongs to you.

Portrait of Alex

I want Namibia's defining moments at their best: Deadvlei before the heat, the living desert while tracks are still sharp, Etosha as elephants approach the water. Around them, we make time for the guides, makers and conservationists who turn a beautiful road into a journey you understand.
