Bwabwata National Park
Bwabwata is a lived-in national park and transboundary wildlife corridor where elephants move between river systems, woodlands and neighbouring countries.
Place overview
Bwabwata National Park
Bwabwata changes the meaning of a Namibian safari. It is river-fed, wooded and connected to wildlife routes extending beyond national borders.
People also live inside the park. Community institutions and game guards make conservation a social system rather than an empty-wilderness idea.
Epic Namibia gives Bwabwata a complete day between Waterberg and Zambezi so this ecological and human shift has room to register.
Here a national park is also a homeland and a corridor. Elephants cross the map, while people live within the same conservation story.

Enter the river woodland
Bwabwata needs interpretation. I choose a guide who can speak about community conservation, not only identify animals from a vehicle.

I design long Namibia journeys around landscape change, local interpretation and time in the right place.
- 01Landscape shift
Enter the river woodland
Baobabs, sand tracks and greener vegetation replace Etosha's open pan.
- 02Wildlife corridor
Follow elephants across borders
The park protects movement between Angola, Botswana, Zambia and Namibia.
- 03Conservation encounter
Hear the community story
Residents and community game guards are part of how this park functions.
