Epupa Falls
The Kunene reaches Epupa as a broad river, then breaks into channels and falls among palms and dark rock.
Flow changes with season and water management, so the place should never be sold as one fixed wall of water. Its deeper power is the whole river landscape.
Epic Namibia stays for a full day, using a local guide for the viewpoints and the human geography of this remote border valley.
After days of stone and dust, the sound of the Kunene arrives almost impossibly: moving water, palms and white falls beneath the escarpment.
