Fish River Canyon
Fish River Canyon is not a single overlook but a long broken world of ravines, terraces and river bends in Namibia's far south.
Cool morning light separates the terraces and shadowed walls. Later, heat flattens the view and the scale becomes harder to grasp.
Epic Namibia gives the canyon a complete day after the crossing from Lüderitz, then leaves northward through quiver-tree country.
The first viewpoint does not contain it. The canyon keeps folding away, wall behind wall, long after the eye thinks it has found the bottom.

I protect a full canyon day. Reaching the rim near sunset and leaving after one photograph would reduce the south to proof of attendance.
