Victoria Falls experience

Walk Victoria Falls' rainforest paths

Follow the cliff-edge trail through spray-fed forest as successive viewpoints reveal the Zambezi breaking into Batoka Gorge.

The experience

Approach the falls through a forest made by spray

Victoria Falls sustains its own strip of rainforest, where paths move between wet foliage and sudden openings above Batoka Gorge.

Each viewpoint changes with river volume and wind: sometimes the full cliff is visible, sometimes the experience is thunder, spray and brief fragments of falling water.

Experience FAQ

Walk Victoria Falls' rainforest paths

Q01Will we get wet?

In high water, heavy spray can soak clothing and obscure viewpoints; waterproof protection and secure footwear matter.

Q02When is the best water level?

There is no single best month: high water brings force and spray, while lower water reveals more rock and the shape of the gorge.

Plan with Alex

Plan Victoria Falls

Cross Deadvlei at dawn, follow desert wildlife tracks near Swakopmund and wait beside an Etosha waterhole as elephants emerge through the dust.

We will begin with your dates, your pace and the image that brought Namibia into your mind. From there, I will draw the journey that belongs to you.

Portrait of Alex

I want Namibia's defining moments at their best: Deadvlei before the heat, the living desert while tracks are still sharp, Etosha as elephants approach the water. Around them, we make time for the guides, makers and conservationists who turn a beautiful road into a journey you understand.
