Quiver Tree Forest and Keetmanshoop experience

Walk the Quiver Tree Forest at sunset

Stand among protected aloes near Keetmanshoop as their forked silhouettes catch the last light over black dolerite hills.

The experience

Meet southern Namibia's most sculptural trees

The Quiver Tree Forest gathers hundreds of branching aloes on a rocky farm outside Keetmanshoop.

Late light turns their pale trunks gold and leaves the crowns in silhouette, but the walk also reveals how these protected succulents survive frost, heat and little rain.

Experience FAQ

Walk the Quiver Tree Forest at sunset

Q01Are quiver trees true trees?

No. They are giant aloes whose branching form and woody-looking stems give them their common name.

Q02Can we always stay for sunset?

Private-land opening times and access rules must be confirmed before the route promises late entry.

Plan with Alex

Plan the quiver trees

Cross Deadvlei at dawn, follow desert wildlife tracks near Swakopmund and wait beside an Etosha waterhole as elephants emerge through the dust.

We will begin with your dates, your pace and the image that brought Namibia into your mind. From there, I will draw the journey that belongs to you.

Portrait of Alex

I want Namibia's defining moments at their best: Deadvlei before the heat, the living desert while tracks are still sharp, Etosha as elephants approach the water. Around them, we make time for the guides, makers and conservationists who turn a beautiful road into a journey you understand.
