Ghanzi experience

Walk the Kalahari with Naro trackers

Follow Naro guides through the Ghanzi bush as spoor, edible plants and water knowledge turn dry ground into a readable record.

The experience

Read the Kalahari with people who know its signs

Around Ghanzi, Naro trackers identify animals from compressed grass, disturbed sand and marks that disappear to an untrained eye.

Plants and water sources widen the walk beyond hunting history, connecting inherited knowledge to contemporary community life.

Experience FAQ

Walk the Kalahari with Naro trackers

Q01Is this offered every day?

No. I confirm a currently operating community-led programme and the guide's availability before including it.

Q02Will we hunt animals?

No. This is an interpretive tracking walk; wildlife welfare and community rules come first.

Plan with Alex

Plan the tracking walk

Cross Deadvlei at dawn, follow desert wildlife tracks near Swakopmund and wait beside an Etosha waterhole as elephants emerge through the dust.

We will begin with your dates, your pace and the image that brought Namibia into your mind. From there, I will draw the journey that belongs to you.

Portrait of Alex

I want Namibia's defining moments at their best: Deadvlei before the heat, the living desert while tracks are still sharp, Etosha as elephants approach the water. Around them, we make time for the guides, makers and conservationists who turn a beautiful road into a journey you understand.
