At Rundu, the Kavango is not only wildlife habitat but a working river bordered by farms, fishing places and settlements on the Namibian and Angolan banks.
A local boat guide explains the seasonal water and daily traffic while birds, reeds and cultivated land replace the thorny interior crossed to reach it.
