The experience

Follow spoor with the people protecting free-ranging rhino

Conservancy guides search by vehicle, then continue on foot when fresh tracks and field protocol make an approach responsible.

The rhino may never appear; the essential experience is seeing how local tracking skill, tourism income and daily protection keep these animals in an unfenced landscape.

Track black rhino with conservancy guides

It can involve a full day, rough vehicle travel and walking over stony ground; age and fitness restrictions are confirmed before booking.

Plan with Alex

Plan the rhino tracking

Cross Deadvlei at dawn, follow desert wildlife tracks near Swakopmund and wait beside an Etosha waterhole as elephants emerge through the dust.

We will begin with your dates, your pace and the image that brought Namibia into your mind. From there, I will draw the journey that belongs to you.

Portrait of Alex

I want Namibia's defining moments at their best: Deadvlei before the heat, the living desert while tracks are still sharp, Etosha as elephants approach the water. Around them, we make time for the guides, makers and conservationists who turn a beautiful road into a journey you understand.
