Elephants beside water in Chobe National Park

Chobe National Park experience

Take an early Chobe game drive

Enter the riverfront at first light to follow fresh tracks through woodland before heat draws wildlife back toward shade and water.

The experience

Follow the land side of Chobe's riverfront

An early 4x4 drive leaves Kasane for woodland tracks and floodplain edges while temperatures are low and overnight signs remain fresh.

Paired with the boat, it reveals the same ecosystem from two levels: predators and tracks inland, then elephants and buffalo approaching water.

Experience FAQ

Take an early Chobe game drive

Q01Will the drive repeat the cruise?

No. Vehicles reach woodland and inland tracks that boats cannot, while the river gives a clearer view of animals using the bank.

Q02How rough are the roads?

Sand, dust, mud and seasonal water affect the route; a licensed park guide chooses the safe tracks.

Plan with Alex

Plan the Chobe drive

Cross Deadvlei at dawn, follow desert wildlife tracks near Swakopmund and wait beside an Etosha waterhole as elephants emerge through the dust.

We will begin with your dates, your pace and the image that brought Namibia into your mind. From there, I will draw the journey that belongs to you.

Portrait of Alex

I want Namibia's defining moments at their best: Deadvlei before the heat, the living desert while tracks are still sharp, Etosha as elephants approach the water. Around them, we make time for the guides, makers and conservationists who turn a beautiful road into a journey you understand.
