Epupa Falls experience

Raft the Kunene below Epupa

Paddle a guided section of the Kunene beneath palms and dry mountains when river level makes the journey safe.

The experience

Enter Kaokoland from the river itself

A guided raft or paddle trip leaves the viewpoints behind and follows the green Kunene between otherwise arid mountains.

The contrast is the experience: moving water, palms and birdlife occupy a narrow corridor through one of Namibia's driest regions.

Experience FAQ

Raft the Kunene below Epupa

Q01Do I need rafting experience?

The listed local format does not require previous experience, but swimming confidence and the guide's safety rules still matter.

Q02Can we raft in every season?

No. High floodwater or other unsafe conditions can cancel the outing, so the itinerary needs a strong land alternative.

Plan with Alex

Plan the Kunene rafting

Cross Deadvlei at dawn, follow desert wildlife tracks near Swakopmund and wait beside an Etosha waterhole as elephants emerge through the dust.

We will begin with your dates, your pace and the image that brought Namibia into your mind. From there, I will draw the journey that belongs to you.

Portrait of Alex

I want Namibia's defining moments at their best: Deadvlei before the heat, the living desert while tracks are still sharp, Etosha as elephants approach the water. Around them, we make time for the guides, makers and conservationists who turn a beautiful road into a journey you understand.
