The experience

Encounter living art, not only heritage performance

Kuru Art Project helped artists from D'Kar develop distinctive printmaking and painting practices rooted in individual experience.

A confirmed studio or gallery visit places contemporary authorship beside tracking knowledge, showing that San culture is being made now rather than preserved only as the past.

Experience FAQ

Meet contemporary San artists at Kuru

Q01Will an artist meet us?

Only after direct agreement. The project and work are real, but a personal conversation cannot be assumed.

Q02Can we visit the studio at any time?

No. Gallery or studio access follows Kuru's current exhibition calendar, and an artist meeting happens only by prior agreement.

Plan with Alex

Plan the Kuru visit

Cross Deadvlei at dawn, follow desert wildlife tracks near Swakopmund and wait beside an Etosha waterhole as elephants emerge through the dust.

We will begin with your dates, your pace and the image that brought Namibia into your mind. From there, I will draw the journey that belongs to you.

Portrait of Alex

I want Namibia's defining moments at their best: Deadvlei before the heat, the living desert while tracks are still sharp, Etosha as elephants approach the water. Around them, we make time for the guides, makers and conservationists who turn a beautiful road into a journey you understand.
