Big Daddy rises beside Deadvlei, and its narrow ridge opens a view across star dunes and the white pan below.
The summit is optional: climbing until the landscape opens, then descending the slip face, can be complete without turning endurance into the point.

No. Heat, wind, sand and individual fitness decide the turnaround point; Dune 45 offers a shorter alternative.
Water, sun protection and closed footwear are essential even at dawn, and the climb should stop before heat builds.
