I design journeys to places of power for those who want to travel deeper
Estonia special event · One day in early August, in a different Setomaa village each year
One day each August, the Seto declare their kingdom and elect the earthly representative of Peko, their sleeping king. Leelo singing, dancing and fiercely judged food competitions fill the village around the election.
Designer's note
I prepare you for the songs, the election and the food before you arrive. Understanding why people line up behind each candidate turns the day from spectacle into a generous invitation to witness Seto culture on its own terms.

Event FAQ
In a different Setomaa village each year — the kingdom moves. When you share your dates, I confirm the year's village with the organizers and place your stay accordingly.
Yes, warmly — as guests. The day is the Seto's own, not a show, and it rewards visitors who come prepared. I brief you on the songs, the election, and the food before you go, so you arrive knowing what you are seeing.

Tell me what draws you — floodwater, islands, winter darkness, food — and when you can travel. I will shape the route around it.
