Pärnu experience

Walk Pärnu's resort story

Follow Pärnu from its 1838 Mud Baths through the beach park to Estonia's finest functionalist resort buildings, seeing how sea cures became a modern summer culture.

The experience

Read two centuries of life beside the sea

Pärnu became a bathing resort in 1838, when sea air, warm baths and long summer stays began reshaping the town. The route moves from the old Mud Baths and timber villas into Olev Siinmaa's white functionalist buildings, designed for sun, movement and modern leisure.

The walk explains why Pärnu feels different from Estonia's medieval and rural places. Its identity was deliberately built around the body, the beach and the brief northern summer.

Experience FAQ

Walking Pärnu's resort district

Q01What do we see on the walk?

The route links the nineteenth-century Mud Baths, beach park, wooden villas and Olev Siinmaa's functionalist Rannahotell and Beach House.

Q02Does this include a spa treatment?

No. The public experience explains Pärnu's resort history through its buildings and coast; treatments are added only when separately selected and confirmed.

Plan with Alex

See why Pärnu became Estonia's summer capital

I design Estonia as a small-country journey: fewer stops, more time in each, and enough slack for weather, ferry timetables, and dinners that run long.

Tell me what draws you — floodwater, islands, winter darkness, food — and when you can travel. I will shape the route around it.

Portrait of Alex

Estonia changes with the calendar: spring water fills Soomaa's forests, midsummer fires burn through the white night and late summer brings Peipsi onions to roadside stalls. I plan around the moment you most want to experience.
