Enter the former Kreenholm director's villa, where resident artists work with Narva's gardens, schools, factories and communities instead of treating the border city as a historical exhibit.
The experience
Narva Art Residency occupies the villa built for Kreenholm's director, but its attention is on the city now. Artists work with residents in schools, gardens, garages and former industrial spaces, creating projects that could not be moved unchanged to another border town.
Visit the current exhibition and residency house. When the programme allows, a conversation with an artist can show how Narva's language, architecture and divided river become working material rather than backdrop.
