Sit down among more than 200 samovars in an Old Believer village and learn the rituals, utensils and unhurried hospitality of tea on the western shore of Lake Peipsi.
The experience
Along Lake Peipsi, tea is part of a domestic culture shaped by Russian Old Believer communities who settled here three centuries ago. Varnja's Samovar House turns that history into a table: metal urns, glasses, preserves and the time required to drink without rushing.
The host explains how the equipment works and what tea means in local hospitality. The experience is small in scale, which is precisely why it belongs here.
