Ride the island's 40-kilometer Travel Wheel between all four villages, stopping at farms, the museum, church, lighthouse and coast rather than treating Kihnu as a short ferry excursion.
The experience
Kihnu's Travel Wheel links all four villages across a small, mostly flat island. Cycling makes the distances legible: farms and fields, the museum and church, a forest road, the lighthouse and sudden views of the Baltic all belong to one inhabited place.
The route is free to ride, but its value comes from stopping. With an overnight stay, the island is no longer compressed between ferries and there is time for the people and practices that make Kihnu exceptional.
