Kuresoo rises above the surrounding land as a broad accumulation of peat, patterned with pools, hummocks and low pines. Bogshoes let you leave the boardwalk with a guide and feel the living surface move beneath your weight.
Away from the timber path, scale becomes clear: this is not a wet patch in a forest, but an ancient open landscape storing water and carbon. During nesting season, the deep bog is left undisturbed.
