A 12–16-day journey from Addo's elephant country through forest, lagoon and vineyard valleys. Table Mountain waits at the end, rising above a final immersion in Cape Town.
Designer's note
My favorite road into Cape Town
I begin this journey in Addo so the road can move west without retracing itself. After the elephants, four days protect walks through coastal forest and time beside quieter lagoons. Table Mountain then rises above the final days in Cape Town.

Addo
Addo protects elephants in dense spekboom thicket and a park stretching far beyond its main game loop: you take a sunrise drive, wait at Hapoor Dam and cross the Bedrogfontein 4x4 trail.

Garden Route
Along the Garden Route, indigenous forest meets tannin-dark rivers and the Indian Ocean: you walk Storms River Mouth, kayak into its gorge and hike Robberg Peninsula above the surf.

The Cape Winelands place old vineyards beneath the Jonkershoek mountains: you cycle Stellenbosch's farm roads, taste certified old-vine wines and walk through fynbos to Eerste Waterfall.
